Our first wedding fayre!
Pick Me popped its wedding fayre cherry and what an amazing venue for that special occasion!
The wedding fayre was organised by Wonderland Wedding Promotions and was held at Cardiff Castle. It saw 414 brides through the door in 4 hours, so it was busy to say the least!
It’s always a scary prospect putting yourself on show because there will always be people who love or hate your style, but isn’t it wonderful that in this day and age there is so much choice available!?
Wedding fayres, particularly for florists can be an expensive venture with no guarantee of return. Unlike others we’re expected to have fresh flowers on display but they’re so much fun to do!
One of my favourite parts about displaying at a wedding fayre is the process of designing the display beforehand. Choosing the theme is always an interesting one, do you go for a theme that suits the venue, the current season, the season visiting brides are likely to be getting married or go rogue!
For this wedding fayre we opted for a rustic display of whites, pinks and purples. Flowers were complemented with twine, hessian and lace and a big green jug for our statement piece.
One of our most talked about pieces at the fayre were our giant floral letters. We were very fortunate that the couple who’d got married earlier in the week had allowed us to borrow them to use in our display. Ever leaf is attached by hand so it's really a labour of love! We make them for either hire or to buy and offers a great alternative to light up letters.
What was interesting was that people couldn’t tell the difference between what flowers were real and what were artificial. For us that’s a huge compliment! We try to use only the highest quality we can get our hands on in both real and artificial and it’s obviously working!
To all those brides, relatives, friends and bored looking fiances we got to meet it was an absolute pleasure! If you’d like to talk more about your wedding flowers feel free to drop us a message to book a free consultation!
