Guest Bloggers - Spring, Glorious Spring!

So, spring has arrived. The flowers will be beginning to blossom in parks up and down the UK and the sun will be bringing a broad smile to everyone’s faces. And what better way to celebrate the start of spring than a lovely new bouquet of flowers for your home? Now the seasons have changed we will changing our bouquets up a bit, so here’s what we would love to work with for you!

Ranunculus

Often referred to the ‘rose of spring’, the Ranunculus flower has become very popular for weddings. These flowers look delicate when they open but is in fact very tough and a great addition to any bouquet.

Delphiniums

We love to use Delphiniums in as many designs as possible and couldn’t recommend them enough! Their shape gives them a great look in a vase of flowers and compliment other flowers really well. They come in a range of colours including, blue, blue-purple, red-purple, whites, ivory and pink. Get in touch to ask what colours there are available to jazz up your arrangement!

Ranunculus are the white flowers displayed in this picture and delphiniums are the stemmed

flowers with lots of blue little flowers.

The Sunflower

Whilst we will start to use them closer to the summer season when they come into their own, Sunflowers bring that sense of summer to an arrangement. The bright yellow petals are sunny and cheerful whilst the dark centers add a touch of drama. Depending on how you want us to use them, we can use them to create a rustic look or a much formal look! It’s up to you how alternative you want us to be!

Peonies

Like sunflowers, peonies are another flower which come into their own closer to the end of spring / early summer months and will look to use a lot arrangements. Exuding their charm, these flowers can work just as well on their own as they do in a big arrangement and we recommend these for a special wedding day! They are a little on the pricey side compared to other flowers but are well worth the extra money for the smell alone!

So if you like our choice of flowers then maybe Pick Me is the florist for you! What's your favorite flower for this time of year? Let us know we love to hear your thoughts!
