Guest Bloggers - Why Go Local?

Choosing where to buy a bouquet of flowers can be a pretty hard task these days. There are so many choices online; from large online florists to online supermarket websites. Selecting the best can seem impossible.

How do you choose between them we hear? Well we suggest sticking to local business’s, and here is why…

  • With a local florist, you receive a service totally catered for YOU. Being able to ask your florist for their opinion and to challenge them to make your perfect floral bouquet is always great for getting exactly what you want. Everyone loves a personalised bouquet!

  • Quality! The quality of local florist’s products is usually much better. The difference between supermarket and florist bouquets is how they are kept. Supermarkets buy in bulk and then refrigerate their flowers for up to a month to preserve them. This makes them look fresh once they arrive at the supermarket but life will be shorter. Supermarket flowers are also exposed to constant light. The lights in stores which are on 24/7 means flowers in a sense don’t get time to ‘sleep’. Flowers are like people and need time to sleep to recuperate and this helps the life of the flower.

  • Supporting local helps new businesses thrive and helps the local economy!

  • Advice- If you don’t know what you want or is the best flower for you, your local florist will be able to help you with your decision whatever the occasion!

  • Fun and Flexible – By going local you are not restricted! With a passion for floral design, we like to pride ourselves on being ‘alternative’ meaning we are willing to cater for any occasion!

So even though the online world has made it easy for us to order flowers within seconds, it is definitely worth sticking to your local florist!
