Gift Bouquets...You mean there's more than one type!?
It's St Davids Day! Gone are the days when I'd have a daffodil wrapped in tin foil pinned onto my welsh outfit but it's still all about the flowers with me! With Mother's Day coming up (26th of March, put it in your diary!) I wanted to give you a very brief overview of the different styles of bouquets you can get that can work with different budgets!
Top Tips for looking after your flowers:
- Take the wrapping off once you get home.
- Change the water & re-cut the stems on a 45 degree angle every 2 days
- Keep away from fresh fruit, drafts, heat and direct sunlight
The naked bouquet!
Let the flowers speak for themselves and have no wrapping! This bouquet works better with a larger budget - you need a fair number of stems to get the rounded style. This style is typically used for bridal bouquets as the 'handtied posy'. Ideal for those conscious of the environment by reducing the need for recycling wrapping.
The Box Bouquet.
A handtied bouquet of flowers wrapped with complimentary wrapping paper, water bubble, placed into a decorative card box and finished off with a bow!
This is the most popular style of gift bouquet, it's easy to transport and stands on it's own. The water bubble means the flowers are never out of water, but you will need to change the water!
The Phoenix Bouquet.
A handtied bouquet of flowers, with the taller flowers in the centre. This style only works if you have flowers like delphiniums (blue ones in the photo) These have been wrapped with complimentary wrapping paper, water bubble and finished off with a bow!
The Flat Pack.
The bouquet has been arranged so that the bouquet can be placed flat, this is perfect for anyone taking the flowers on a journey to give to the lucky someone! The front can be covered or left open (as shown here). This is a 'traditional' style of bouquet and some consider old fashioned but wrapped in the right way can look very modern and snazzy!
The Single Flower.
A simplistic gesture and so beautiful! Sometimes all it needs is a single flower to make someone smile. This rose has been wrapped in quite an elaborate way, typically it would be wrapped with a clear cellophane but then Pick Me doesn't do typical!
The Grab & Go Bouquet.
This holds memories or market place flower sellers. No arrangement just pick your blooms and have them wrapped up in paper to take straight home and arrange yourself!
And that is a very simple overview of gift bouquet styles & how to look after them! If you'd like to order flowers for mothers day please don't hesitate to contact us on hello@pickmeflorist.com or call Hannah on 07478312533
